【產(chǎn)品介紹】Apaf-1, o r apoptotic protease activating fact 
o r 1, is a human protein homolog of the C. 
elagans apoptotic regulat o r y protein CED-4 that 
activates caspase-9 during apoptosis (1). Cytosolic Apaf-1 
f o r ms an oligomeric complex with caspase-9 in 
the presence of cytochrome c a n d dATP, which leads
 to caspase-9 activation a n d subsequent activation 
of caspase-3 (2, 3). Oligomeric Apaf-1 a n d 
pro-caspase-9 bind to each other via their 
respective NH2-terminal CARD domains, consequently 
enhancing the catalytic activity of caspase-9 (4), 
leading to activation of the caspase signaling cascade 
a n d apoptosis.
