type 8, is a G protein-coupled, seven-transmembrane 
domain recept o r protein. Chemokines are key molecules 
in directing leukocyte migration toward sites 
of inflammation. The human C-C chemokine I-309 is a 
monocyte chemoattractant a n d inhibits apoptosis in 
thymic cell lines. It has been found that CKR8/CCR8 is 
a recept o r f o r chemokines SCYA1/I-309, 
SCYA4/MIP-1-beta, a n d SCYA17/TARC (1-3).
